Google to scan books

Taking a trip to the library soon might take little more than a computer’s web browser: Working with major libraries–including those at Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Michigan–Google is hoping to scan millions of books and periodicals into its popular internet search engine during the next several years as part of an effort to bring more of the world’s collective knowledge online

Totally amazing. Google says their goal is to organize the worlds information and they’re doing it. Imagine when you don’t have to go to the library to read a book. All the times you search for something and find that it’s in a book that isn’t online.

Who knows what they’ll come up with next.
