Finally, someone else with a bit of sanity about this situation as I'm all for Jeremy making a little coin of his hard work if he wants.

Perhaps those that yell loudest were just too cheap to buy a link?

Jason,

You're right...I hadn't noticed that....although, the condoms on my links are just on the comments, where spammers like to hang out (luckily for me I have the Spam Karma 2 plugin for wordpress).

I believe wordpress stuck that nofollow in there for me without even asking...

[...] So what does all this movie trivia have to do with search engines, well thanks to Jeremy Zawodny a large portion of the web just got one step closer to lesbian porn. WebGuerrilla broke the story of A-List blogger Jeremy Zawodny selling text links without a link condom. The ethics of the whole debate raged across the web (threadwatch, seoroundtable, oilman, searchenginewatch, John Jonas) . However as search engine engineer Matt Cutts from Google points out one of the websites he links to is a lesbian porn scraper website. [...]

[...] One of the things about blogging I haven’t yet come to grips with is the idea that anyone other than my 10 drinking buddies will be reading what I write. When discussing search with the brew crew, I always have the luxury of knowing everyone present has a good understanding of where I stand on all the major issues. That being the case, I never have had any problems with someone leaving the table completely clueless about a point I was trying to make. [...]
