What Training (and time) Will Do For Your Employees
Yesterday I got a PDF document back from my GUYS:
The Top 7 ROI Activities Your VA Can Do
I asked them to write it. I’m going to add it as a bonus in ReplaceMyself.com. They would know the best ROI activities better than I would…they’re the ones who do the work and who check it’s effectiveness.
Here’s the real kicker. This is why I created ReplaceMyself.com in the first place.
They sent me the 2nd draft. Along with it one of my GUYS said:
Sir,
I think we should add your affiliate links into the PDF for all the tools you’re recommending they use.
What do you think?
[name]
So, he’s actually looking out for me and my business. He actually wants me to succeed and make money.
The crazy thing is that after the first draft, I had thought “I should put affiliate links into this…but I don’t want to go find them…so nevermind.”
HE DID IT FOR ME!!!
Talk about replacing myself!
After Giving your GUYS my training, this is what you should expect from your GUYS too.
This is why outsourcing to the Philippines is soooo different than anywhere else in the world.
DISCLAIMER: The GUY who said this to me has been with me for 3 years. That’s why the title of this post has “(and time)” included in it. It takes both time and training for someone to understand your business as well as he understands mine.

John,
Just wondering how your people feel knowing that your making tons of money from their efforts and they maybe getting a small bounus here and there? I just wonder if there is any resentment or maybe the better question is do they have any idea how much money is being generated?
Great for your golfing game!
I am curious why you take the time to always type the word GUYS in all capital letters… 5 times in this short post, in fact?
Is it an acronym for something in ReplaceMyself.com? Or do you only hire men, and want to recommend we stay away from hiring women?
Thanks.
@Leslie – I call the GUYS as somewhat of a branding thing. It makes sure people know I’m always talking about my GUYS in the Philippines, and not something else. No other reason.
@Stacy – While I haven’t talked about it with them, I would guess they feel about the same as any employee here does. If you’re treated well, you’re probably ok with it. I try and treat my GUYS very well. I give bonuses, I give time off, I’m super lenient, I give raises, I give them freedom.
John
I´m wondering if the GUYS in the Philipines are so great
in doing all this research, writing, programing and marketing stuff why the heck should they do the work for someone else (me?)but not for themselves ?
@Jim Mack – have you listened to the audio on ReplaceMyself.com?
I talk about a few different reasons why they’ll do it for you, and not for themselves in that audio.
John
By “give them training”, are you referring to training on the replacemyself website or is there some specific training elsewhere you’re recommending?
Quote:"@Jim Mack – have you listened to the audio on ReplaceMyself.com?

John"
I think everybody is wondering the same. Why would anyone work for some one else having the required set of tools and knowledge to start up their own business? I have listened to the audio, and I get it. It is just a mindset thing. They live in a third world environment where being an entrepreneur is not something they plan to do. They prefer, the majority at least, to have the security of a monthly check, a year contract or some recurring income at all.
If you have your own business, you would probably make "tons of money" as mentioned above, but you will have to deal with risk and also, having to invest a lot of money in some cases, mostly on advertising.
My question here John is this. How comes that they haven't read your posts here? If I were in their position, I would feel a little shocked to say the least. Thanks for your useful posts. Wayne
@Wayne – They have read my posts. …hmmm…they POST the posts!!! lol.
I think the reason why they're still loyal and good to me is because I try to be good to them. I try to treat them well.
My GUYS know all about http://www.ReplaceMyself.com and http://www.OnlineJobs.ph. I mean…they built them!
Filipinos (at least…the Filipinos who work for me) are just good, honest, hard working people, who want to have someone take care of them. That's what I try to do.
John,
That is absolutely right . I am a Filipino and I really thank you for everything.
More power to you!
Actually … it is not just the Phillipines. I am constantly totally amazed by the lack of entrepreneurial spirit here in the UK. The perceived (and it really is only a perception) security of the monthly cheque seems to so highly valued by most that even though all they had to do was just copy what you were doing – something they could do straight away – they never do.
And their cheque is no more secure than mine. And that applies all the time, not just during the recession.

A continuing post until I state Good luck.
I'm ready ! I have many ideas. What I'm not sure about is the skill set.
Meaning, should I start off with a programmer (someone who can set up the program),
a web designer, who possess some of the skills of a programmer, graphic artist,
or what ?
Thank you John for your consistent updates. Why? Because all of us need at some point
to quit rehearsing and perform. To get onstage and start acting the part of true entrepreneurs
( a calculated risk taker ).
Because I've used ScriptLance, Elance, Get-A-Coder and other 'get the job done sites', I've been primarily dissatisfied with the results from India. Some of the workers from India were brilliant. They could implement "what they wanted without any problems'. But the ability to
do what I wanted in a timely fashion proved to be very difficult.
13 March 2010 – continued . . . .
On some projects I spent 100s' (hundreds) of hour with poor results. I do think it's very important to use a skill source, esp., one that, percentage wise can speak, interpret and understand English as well as some native American speakers. That's the Philippines.
I put my website on display because it will be the first site that I will use an assistant on.
I have a few. I do community sites focusing on the Monterey Peninsula. If there is a virtual assistant ready to grow with me, received timely bonuses, raises, grow with me as a growing team, look for Van in the near future.

In what John stated he did virtually in 24-hours and personally, it would take me a month.__Let me see. I get up 4AM, on the road at 5AM to get to work at 6:15AM.
Back on the road at 5:15PM on the road home. Arriving at home at approximately 6:45PM (weekdays) and if the flow of the rush hour traffic is streaming at a steady pace.
My number one concern when I get home is showing my daughter that I'm present, interested in 'her'. Helping her with her homework, extracurricular activities, flying a kite and the whatevers.
Why not hire someone as a VA (virtual assistant), who can test your ideas, design, program and help you implement the barrage of useful and at times a plethora of regurgitated BS that inudates your INBOX ?
I wish all of you a healthy dose of success. If you are a talented VA (virtual assistant), known as a Jack of All Trades willing to start out at $100-150 monthly for six-months, contact me. I'm Van. After six-months we will raise it $50.00 if the projects that we work on produce value to our visitors/customers.

Correction: to produce value for our visitors/customers.

You must have an understanding of wordpress, some of the apps that Jonas (John) mentioned in his blog. Take a look as an example at: http://www.mydenmarktv.com/ .
Are you able to monetize the blog, make use of adding a directory that John spoke of in his video blog. Adsense, other affiliate links.
Today is the 13 March 2010. _ This time tomorrow, I will be a member of Jonas' , GEEZ, I call you Jonas instead of John. What's up with that? _ Back to the point. I will join Jonas' REPLACE MYSELF within the next 14-hours. _ There is no way I can succeed working for someone else, working by myself with a skilled virtual assistant, my fellow entrepreneurs.
Let us get up off of our DUFFS a forge through the forest. Are you ready? I am ! ! !
Good luck, Buena Suerte' !
