I think the question is pretty relevant to most IMers.

The one thing I forgot to talk about on my video is that I would probably install http://www.crazyegg.com on the site to see what people are currently doing when they come to your site.

THANK YOU for your input, I really appreciate it.
I’ve had the site up for a few months, and it just so happens I had a Wordpress .htaccess error for a few hours, RIGHT when you were checking it out! 404s on pretty much every page… nice.
Anyway, that’s fixed.
I’m going to implement everything you recommended, I’ll let you know in a few months how the site is performing.
