Philippines Outsourcing Tip 11 of 16: This Isn’t India
The Philippines is VERY different than India. You don’t need to
micro-manage people. You don’t need to look at every single thing
they’re doing. Let them do their work and don’t worry about it. Get
their work out of your head and concentrate on the things that are
most important in your business.

There is a lot of difference between India and Philippines. India is far better in terms of quality of engineers. See the number of Indians in silicon valley and you will know what I am talking about.
Been to India, lived there for 6 months, they learn things like parrots. If you want them to think outside the box, sorry wrong place, you will need a manager to do all the thinking, if you ask them anything slightly different to what the book is that they just learnt their programming for, expect a dumb founded look, nice people but not foreward thinking when it comes to thinking outside of what had been delegated, trust me if you saw how they lived and what they earned you would also be motivated to get out the country,
I am an Indian and i will defend my country and my fellow Indians. But more than that I'd like to educate a few ignorant people but i feel its going to be a waste of my time. In short, I understand what john says and with all his presentation, the reason he prefers Philippines is because it is cheaper and thats about it. It is nice to see that you have created a great course but sad coz you have offended all Indians and that you are a racist, i know you don't care and interesting part is we don't care what you say coz its just your opinion. My only advice is that if you were creating your course about hiring people in Philippines then why do you have to compare it with India or any other country. You could have just mentioned Philippines without comparing to any other country. I have been really sad about what you said because i really like your course but you openly offended us and that's all because of you. I just don't get it, on one hand you say that you like almost everything about India and you have Indian friends and on the other hand you make fun of us by comparing us about the way we speak English, our work ethic blah blah blah….that's wrong man! Grow up dude, you are doing all this just to create some kind of attention, it might be a nice marketing tactic but a very cheap act.
You have read a lot of good books right, well mostly about how to be successful and yeah no doubt which you are and i applaud you for that, but what you need to read is some personal development books and "how to treat people right" kind of books.
I don't have much to say except that you are a good man, don't say such things that would hurt someone's feelings. "Don't belittle people, only small people do that". You had bad experience with outsourcing in India, it doesn't mean Indians are incompetent and if you think that, then it clearly shows how ignorant you are and i wont even go there coz you know nothing about India.
A very Proud Indian!
Well, I wont use the word "racist" (too harsh) No way. john has just followed the current trend of preferring Philippines over other outsourcing destinations. Even John Reese in his outsourcing course recommended Philippines over India because he thinks Filipinos work individually and when you are outsourcing to India you are dealing with SEO companies rather than individuals and John (Reese) prefers individuals over companies for SEO jobs – but that's his opinion (which is somewhat true).
Now, let me reveal something – I have been a freelancer. In 2006 and earlier 2007 I was learning SEO and doing SEO jobs for overseas clients. I soon realized where the money is and soon realized that this outsourcing job is nothing compared to other IM stuffs like Affiliate Marketing, for example. But by then I had a few loyal clients and I decided to launch a SEO Service site to serve them. I later outsourced the jobs from other outsources and hired somebody who is still taking care of that business. I was ambitious (still am) and moved on.
Now, I have my own digital product and make thousands every month. I now outsource from the US (yes, if you know the trick you can do it), especially article writing and blog commenting etc. Foe SEO jobs I still outsource them from India. But every now and then I see that the guys who are smart among the lot, whom i taught link building got curious about the whole thing launched his own niche marketing blog. So I am left with the so called "dumb" guys or SEO newbies. the best SEO workers in India is not going to work as outsource workers for long. I didn't. My best staffs didn't.
That's exactly why when you see Mark Ling's list of JVs who promoted Affilo Jet Pack, you will see a young guy from India to made it to the top 5. There are several others who silently making their mark in the Internet Marketing arena. ( I didn't mention Anik Singal or Amish Shah since they live in the US now). The age of internet in India is just about 3- 4 years – just wait for a couple of years. i am planning to open a SEO Institution in my city. And i am not alone. And we aren't going to teach the students SEO for doing other people's job but to accomplish their online marketing dreams.
Let the smart Filipinos serve the internet community while the smart Indians who once used to be job providers themselves could well hire them to get their job done.
