I’m going through a life changing time right now. I have some financial opportunities that could allow me to own my own business, or work on businesses that I’m a part owner of. This would allow me to quit my job. What’s even better is that I am doing work for someone right now that might make it very easy for me to quit my job and start these businesses.

So there’s the background. 3 times this week, during my morning scripture study, scriptures have just jumped out at me pushing me to quit and move forward with these options. I wanted to record one of them specifically:

2 Nephi 2:27
Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.

This scripture really came as inspiration to me for what I need to do. As I read this it became apparent to me that liberty to me is not working for someone else. Then it became more apparent that working for someone else is captivity and death…to me. This is just really how I feel. Also, all things have been given me which are expedient for me to be able to quit my job and start a business. It’s really amazing and this scripture just really jumped out at me as a confirmation to prayers about being able to quit my job.

This whole thought comes from likening the scriptures to me. Obviously this doesn’t apply to everyone. For most people having a stable job is liberty and freedom to the. It’s just not for me.
